Alternative investments are a supplemental strategy to traditional long only positions in stocks, bonds and cash.

There are typically two (2) forms of alternative investments:

  1. Private Assets such as private credit, private real estate, private equity and infrastructure investments, these assets are less frequently traded than public stocks and bonds and should give investors additional access to enhanced returns and are less discerptible to mark-to-market pricing; and
  2. Hedge Funds operate mainly in public markets such as short selling and leverage Alternative investments provide an opportunity for portfolio diversification reducing overall risk exposure across investments, so its capital volatility is low.
