The Perpetual Dynamic Fixed Income Fund is a diversified portfolio of quality fixed-income investments. The Fund is an absolute return fund that seeks to provide investors with regular income and consistent returns.

The Fund actively invests in fixed and floating rates, credit and government securities. We seek to take advantage of credit and interest rate opportunities and believe that this flexibility can help the Fund achieve stable returns.

The Fund has a strategic interest rate risk (duration) exposure. We seek to make tactical adjustments to duration risk to reflect our interest rate views. We believe that tactical shifts to duration tend to be most effective during periods of extreme market movement.

The Fund is actively managed by an experienced team that has invested together for over a decade, using an investment approach that seeks to identify quality credit investments while actively managing duration.

The fund is designed to provide investors with a diversified fixed-income solution that manages both credit risk (creditworthiness) and duration risk (sensitivity to changes in interest rates) in different economic conditions.

Aims to provide capital stability and regular income by investing in a diversified range of income-generating assets, and a positive return (before fees and taxes) irrespective of market conditions over a rolling three-year period.

Perpetual aims to achieve the objective by:

  • Investing in both Australian and international fixed-income assets.
  • Actively managing the credit risk through:
    • diversifying the fund among different securities issued by various borrowers
    • actively managing for changes in market-wide and security-specific credit margins
    • identifying and investing in relative value within the universe of credit securities
  • Managing duration risk^ by considering a variety of factors, including valuations and current market conditions

Currency hedges may be used from time to time.

Derivatives may be used in managing the Fund.

^Interest rate duration is a measure. expressed as a number of years, of the sensitivity of the principal value of a fixed income investment to a change in interest rates. Generally. the closer duration is to zero the less interest rate risk there is in the Fund.

Perpetual Group is a diversified financial services company which has been serving Australians since 1886 when it was established as a trustee company by a group of businessmen including Sir Edmund Barton, later to be Australia’s first Prime Minister. That trustee heritage – and the culture it created in putting clients first – is what makes Perpetual unique.

Over more than 135 years we have supported clients and communities through periods of great change and volatility, continuing to evolve to provide products and services to meet the changing needs of our clients. As a business, we have always had an unparalleled ability to look through the noise of the external environment to see detail and opportunities that others do not.

Today, we are an ASX-listed company (ASX: PPT) headquartered in Sydney, Australia, providing asset management, private wealth and trustee services to local and international clients. Our operations span Australia, Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The recent acquisition of Pendal Group brings together two of Australia’s most respected active asset management brands to create a global leader in multi-boutique asset management with approximately A$200 billion in assets under management.

At Perpetual, we are, and have always been, committed to acting in the best interests of our clients and the communities we support to ensure a positive impact and help build a sustainable future. We aim to be the most trusted brand in financial services.
