The Trillium Global Sustainable Opportunities Fund is actively managed with a concentrated high-conviction, sustainability-themed strategy that invests in companies positioned to thrive during the transition to a more sustainable economy.

The Fund’s strategy employs holistic, fully integrated fundamental equity analysis that incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and emphasises growth companies priced at reasonable valuations. Companies must be able to demonstrate that they are contributing to three core sustainability themes through their core business:

  • climate solutions
  • economic empowerment
  • healthy living.

The Fund intends to have no direct fossil fuel exposure.

The diversified portfolio is constructed within a framework that is independent of the benchmark in terms of stock and sector weights. Added value is expected to come from the high-conviction approach to stock selection.

To provide investors with long-term capital growth through investment in global companies driving the transition to a more sustainable economy. To outperform the MSCI World Net Total Return Index ($A) (before fees and taxes) over rolling 3-year periods.

Trillium uses a thematic approach to identify companies that will thrive as we transition to a more sustainable economy.

The focus is on three areas: Climate Solutions, Economic Empowerment and Healthy Living and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals adopted in 2015.

Fundamental, bottom-up financial analysis is conducted including a rigorous integrated review of financial and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors.

Over more than 135 years we have supported clients and communities through periods of great change and volatility, continuing to evolve to provide products and services to meet the changing needs of our clients – some of which span five generations.
