Simon is a Principal of Monash Investors, which he co-founded in 2012. He was previously the Head of Equities at UBS Global Asset Management. Prior to that he was the Head of Australian Equities at Colonial First State. He also held the positions of analyst and portfolio manager at these and other firms.

Monash Investors Pty Ltd was founded in 2012 by the co-founders, Mr Simon Shields and Mr Shane Fitzgerald. The Fund aims to deliver double-digit returns while limiting the loss of capital over a full market cycle in the medium term. The Fund is Long Biased, and the value of the Fund may fall as well as rise. The Manager believes that an unconstrained approach and a focus on identifying mispriced securities for a wide variety of potential reasons based on many years of market experience give rise to potentially significant money-making opportunities. Further, buying companies at a substantial discount to valuation improves downside risk protection.
